Before considering an airline to apply for it would be great if you would have information on the salary and benefits, some companies will be straight to the point and will let you know while some will keep you guessing, just like what happened to me. I wished I had this information when I was applying if I only knew what I know now, I might have been on a different path.
First to understand this salary comparison table of FA salary in the Philippines, you have to understand that FA's are paid differently than your regular employee. This salary is composed of
different pays, once you add these all up you would come up with the final amount. The basic pay is fixed and taxable and other types of pay are not fixed and some are non-taxable, like the per diem pay, productivity pay, meal on board pay and check-sign in pay or take off and landing pay these pays will depend on how many hours of flying you get in a month. The average is 60 hours in a month, with the lowest can be at 40 hours and highest is 100 hours.
I wish I can give you a fixed amount for each company but sad to say if I do that there is a great chance that will be an inaccurate amount given the nature of the job. So here is a table that gives you the confirmed information and it is up to you to calculate how much it can sum up for each company.

this is very useful. how about QR EK oman air saudia? or any other intl airlines that hire pinays? we would love to hear as well
ReplyDeleteHi sis! That is a great idea for a topic. I do have some friends working on QR, EK as CSA, Oman air and air nuigini, none from saudia but i have heard some hearsay. I dont have proof like a payslip or something like that though so that post will be purely based on info from statements of my friends. Will be writing that topic soon as i can ;) follow my blog or subscribe via email to automatically see new posts!
DeleteTama ba intindi ko? Mga 21k lang a month pal ex? Kasi mga bagong recruit pal ex na muna di ba kasi domestic flights muna. And yes, sana meron din upcoming post about salary ng mga international airlines. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI would like to emphasize to my dear readers that working as FA you dont get a fixed income, just like what our sister has posted about qr salary below. This is the same case in the philippine's airline companies. In our case least you can make is net 18k for 40 hrs flying time and net 36500php for 100hrs.
DeleteOn pal ex we dont have the same system of pal na once international ka na u get a higher rate. We have the same rate and even if you are new you get regional flights (hk, sin, kul) already.
hi I'm a crew of qatar airways, what I make in a month depends on my block hours of flying time. basic salary is 3,600 QAR that's 36,000php, per hour flying time is paid by QAR 40. meal allowances depends on the country you're flying, it depends on the currency of a country if you're flying shall we say 4-5 Europe destinations in a mos you'll mostly get 2300 QAR for meal allowances. I prefer flying Europe destinations than flying asia with long haul flying time yet less meal allowances, but of course the con's of flying to europe are you have to spend more than you spend in asia, you're not allowed to bring packed food only water cup noodles and crackers, a bit expensive but there's pleasure in spending and trying out the food from one country to the other. I had a flying time of 100hrs in a mos I was able to get a 10000 QAR that's 100,000 php. if you'll get lets say 60-70hrs a mos you'll receive a salary of 60-70k php a mos. hope this one helps.
ReplyDeleteHi sis! Thank you so much for helping out! This information is very useful. I would like to emphasize to the readers that working as FA you dont get a fixed income, just like what our sister has posted here. This is the same case in the philippine airlines.
Deleteno worries sis, my pleasure to help, this salary applies only for F2 crew meaning those flying the economy, F1 or business class crew have had a different pay, their basic is more than 3600 QAR.. but flying pay is still the same 40 per hour. :)
DeleteI mean to say airline companies in the philippines, just to avoid any confusion in my previous comment :)
ReplyDeleteHello there! PAL Ex and PAL recruitment are kind of confusing lately. I was at PAL's Mass Hiring last month and the event was so crowded but it didn't stopped me applying kasi dream ko rin eh hehe. On PAL's facebook page, the ad says that it's for PAL but then when I got the chance to talk to one of the recruitment officer, she said that the mass hiring is actually intended for PAL Ex. She also told me about PAL's restructuring program since all of its domestic flights are transferred to PAL Ex. And that PAL Ex and PAL will become one eventually. How does it flow ba? I mean, before kasi, PAL has this stages of career growth for their CC's... Una muna domestic flights lang then after few months (or years), saka ka magkakaron ng international flights and that you'll be tagged as IFS/IFA.
ReplyDeleteI'm just wondering, if you get hired for PAL Ex, would there be a chance that you'll fly PAL's destination (long haul flights) someday as part of career growth? Or forever PAL Ex ka na lang? I also read the threads at pex, someone posted there about "Legacy airline" and it's sister company na LCC naman. She was saying na, these two may be somehow related but each's management are way too different. Obviously, she's referring to PAL and PAL Ex.I hope you can enlighten us regarding this matter. :)
Hi Sis!
ReplyDeleteThe mass hiring was also confusing to us as it is to you. Currently the two companies are undergoing changes to better compete with the market. And nobody knows how it will end up, including us who works for the company.
But this is what i can tell you. if i would to advise an aspiring FA, I have always said it here in my blog that PAL have better benefits, destinations, etc. Pal ex was the company I chose because for me the basing is a big deal. (i am cebu-based). as an LCC undergoing lots of changes Pal ex is a good company but if you have a choice between pal and palex, much better talaga the latter because of the benefits you get.
This is just my opinion and i know all of us have different circumstances so for you as an applicant you should do your homework and research what is best for you and your specific situation.
Thanks for the reply Sis!
DeleteWell for me, I'm always aiming to be part of PAL ever since. Like you, medyo particular din ako sa base, and since I'm here in the metro, I'd rather go for PAL. My only concern is baka kahit mag-apply ako as CC for PAL, baka i-transfer lang din nila yung application ko sa PAL Ex just like what they did during the mass hiring.
I sometimes think of calling PAL's HR to ask for some clarifications eh, kaya lang medyo nagaalinlangan ako kasi baka ang isipin nila, ang "choosy" ko naman. Hahaha!
